Fulfilling the Great Commission

Enabling Christians for Ministry

Early on, LIAI encouraged a Construction team and its work has financed outreach and church planting efforts in the country. Its owner and leader, Dadje Samuel, has trained numerous evangelists in a training center he built himself. Matthais Ezel was the key person in setting up the Metal Fabrication Shop. His burden for ministry led him to train apprentices in evangelism as well as metal fabrication and several evangelism trips have brought many to Christ. The Mike Retterer Training Center has trained young people and pastors in ministry as well as vocational skills. (go to top)

Encouraging Evangelism

Our mission statement includes as one of our goals the fulfilling of the Great Commission. Over the past several years, God has miraculously opened the door for LIAI to fulfill the Great Commission through the Jesus Film Project. LIAI has been providing Grace Brethren missionaries, churches and lay people with these films and videos for evangelism.

In many countries we have provided TV-VCR combinations, projectors, screens, PA systems, and generators. We have provided money to put people on the road showing the film, and providing places to show them. Many times the shiping and duty costs exceed the actual price of the equipment sent. LIAI has provided the Jesus Film to 15 countries in over 30 languages and dialects. (go to top)

Meeting the Vocational Needs of our Brethren

Love in Action International seeks to make a way for Christian people in the U.S. to help our brothers and sisters in the country of Chad. Many of those in the cities cannot have gardens to support their families and yet that is all they have known as a way of life. They do not have skills for employment and there is a little employment available even if they did. Food, medicines, and clothing are scarce. When a family has serious difficulty obtaining basic necessities, they will not be able to support the church and its ministries either. Yet our brothers and sisters are not idle people, but hardworking and willing to learn.

LIAI has targeted this situation to seek to provide the training and employment our Christian friends need. Over sixteen years of LIAI activity in Chad, we have seen a welcome change among people in the town of Moundou. In one church, they have finished their church building, called a pastor, built the pastor a home, and are now highly involved in an evangelism effort led by their pastor, Ndokaye Fidele. A few people employed and a vision for ministry has made the difference. For years the church was a small and ineffective group without a pastor. Today, there are 600 people in attendance.

Was God waiting for Christians in the U.S. to get involved? We will probably never know the answer to that question, but we do know what He wants us to do now. Over two-thirds of the people in this church are still unemployed and dozens of other churches in the cities of Chad have the same problem. Join us in the task of helping enable God’s people for life and ministry. (go to top)
